When you decide to join UCMG, you must select a primary care physician (PCP), who is the most important person of the health care team, who provides periodic preventive care, treat illnesses. The PCP will refer you to specialists if it is necessary.

How to select PCP

You may choose PCP according to you and your family needs. There are guidelines which you may consider in selecting a doctor:

You may choose

  • General or Family Practice physicians who may take care of you and your whole family regardless the age.
  • If you need to have a doctor who takes care of your children from birth to 18 or 21 years of age, you may choose a General Pediatrician.
  • For adult members, one may choose General Internist. Most of Internist emphasize the care for senior members.
  • If you are female gender who want to have both general and female care, you may choose an Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
